FAQ

Mike Anthony Teen Guitar Lessons Performance Camp

First, let’s address the most common concerns that potential students have when starting lessons:

I can’t read music: This is no need for concern, as you are in excellent company. Did you know that most famous bands throughout history had no music-reading ability or formal training? When is the last time you saw your favorite band with music stands and sheet music on stage? I offer a fantastic approach to sight reading that has helped students earn scholarships, so if reading is your interest, I have you covered.

I have no natural musical talent: Neither did countless students who later formed bands, recorded professionally and released CDs, or now perform all over the country. I can’t even begin to tell you how often this concern has been put to rest.

I tried lessons once but it went poorly: That may be true, but my lesson program is absolutely NOT like ANY other program. I have seen a great deal of success with our students because of my continued focus on my students’ goals, comfort and happiness.

Frequently Asked Lessons Questions

Q: What Are The Lesson Rates?

Standard rates are $95 per month on four-week months (four 30-minute lessons), or $118 for five-week months. Yes, that is the least-expensive rate going for a lesson experience worth much more. Instead of worrying about cost, I want you to focus on gaining a new skill. Holidays, snow days and other variables can affect (reduce) monthly rates, as will be explained in a lesson policy that you will receive upon starting lessons. (This will cover which holidays lessons will not be offered, what occurs in the event of inclement weather, make-up lessons, etc.)

Q: What Do I Need To Bring To Lessons?

Please bring a spiral notebook, as well as a clip-on headstock tuner. Phone app tuners are not as accurate.

Q: Do you offer 30, 45, and 60 minutes lessons?

30 or 60-minute lessons are available.

Q: Do you offer Skype Lessons?

Absolutely. I have years of positive experience working with kids, teens and adults of various levels of experience and knowledge. From novice to advanced. We can determine what your goals are and plan a course of action that is right for you.

Q: At what age can a child begin lessons?

If you have a very young child who you would like to begin learning an instrument, give me a call. I can help you determine if music lessons are right for your child at this point in time. I can also help you determine what other options may be available to add musical value to your child’s life at this time.

Q: How do you accept payment?

Cash, personal checks, Venmo and Apple Pay are accepted at this time.

Q: How Often Should A Student Practice?

This is a very common question and should be discussed during your individual lessons as there are many approaches depending on a number of variables.
